CDP Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board
Learn more about CDP's Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board, its members, and latest activities.

CDP’s Earth-Positive economics agenda is focused on one central objective: To move beyond the correlation of environmental impacts on economic value to the identification of cause and effect based on proven economic laws.
Earth-Positive economics recognizes that environmental health is not a constraint on prosperity, but a precondition for it. The concept places sustainability at the heart of value creation and far from being at the expense of growth, acts as a catalyst for it. CDP's Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board seeks to embed environmental impact into financial statements. One step at a time.
Building on a strong existing foundation of environmental economics, CDP – as the foremost platform for climate and nature data – is identifying how to unlock the evidence needed to show that embedding environmental indicators into the economic system will fuel the economy of tomorrow. It places natural world indicators in the driving seat of economic growth. Earth-Positive economics is simply good economics.

CDP Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board: Climate Week NYC 2026
Validating Causation: Embedding Climate and Nature Data into Economic Principles
At Climate Week NYC, CDP convened the second meeting of its Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board, bringing together leaders from business, finance, and academia to explore how environmental change can be translated into economic and financial outcomes. With water as the first major test case, the discussion examined how risks such as scarcity, pollution and disruption can flow through operations and supply chains into costs, revenues, resilience and ultimately enterprise value. The session sharpened a central ambition of Earth-Positive Economics: to use CDP’s unique data to build robust evidence of how climate and nature shape the economy, and translate that evidence into the decisions of boards, CFOs, investors, and insurers.
