CDP Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board Inaugural Session
From Correlation to Causation: Embedding Climate and Nature Data into Economic Law

CDP is delighted to announce the inaugural session for our newly-convened Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board on Thursday June 25 (10:00 to 12:00 BST) in London, running during the 2026 London Climate Action Week.
Grounded in CDP’s unparalleled climate and nature disclosure data, the Board brings together leading economists, financial leaders and corporate strategists with a shared objective: To move beyond correlation, and establish clear cause and effect between environmental performance and economic value, grounded in proven economic laws.
This convening represents the Board’s first public moment, and is designed as a working session to rigorously test ideas, challenge, and pressure test early economic hypotheses against real world experience.
We are inviting a small, curated group of senior decision-makers and experts to join us in an interactive conversation which will help define the future of economic thinking.
For any questions or further information, please contact us at events@cdp.net.
Format
The session will take the form of a moderated expert panel discussion and interactive roundtable, featuring members of the Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board.
Audience participation is central. This convening is intended to draw on the experience of experts in the room who allocate capital, shape strategy, and operate at system scale.
The discussion will be led by members of CDP’s Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board. Board members will introduce and frame the core economic propositions, drawing on CDP data to test where environmental performance demonstrably drives economic value.
Why your involvement matters
This work addresses a critical gap: translating sustainability insights into economic cause and effect that decision-makers can rely on.
The discussion will directly inform the focus areas, methodology and structure of CDP’s emerging Earth-Positive Economics Framework.
Insights from this convening will help shape CDP’s inaugural Earth-Positive Economics report, due in early 2027. Participants will have the opportunity to influence, and potentially feature in, that work.
