Advancing Long-Term Value Creation: From Observers to Actors in Natural Risk Management
Chinese companies, driven by global disclosure trends and tightening domestic regulations, are rapidly shifting from nature-risk “observers” to “actors.” They are embedding governance, strategy, risk management, and target-setting into their operations, moving from compliance to value creation.
Drawing on data from CDP’s 2024 disclosure cycle, this report examines Chinese companies’ progress in adopting systematic nature-related disclosure amid global framework convergence and strengthening regulation. The findings show significant advances in governance, strategic awareness, and risk management across water security, forests, and biodiversity. High-quality nature disclosure is not only a compliance requirement, it is also a critical lever for long-term value creation and green growth opportunities.
