EPEAB-NYCW

CDP will host the second meeting of its newly convened Earth Positive Economics Advisory Board (EPEAB) during Climate Week NYC on Thursday September 24, 2026 (10:00 to 12:00) in central Manhattanvenue to be confirmed shortly.

What if some of the most important drivers of business performance have been missing from the economic models that guide decision-making today?

Climate Week NYC marks the next milestone in CDP's Earth-Positive Economics journey. Following an inaugural discussion during London Climate Action Week, we are bringing together a select group of economic, financial and business leaders to examine how environmental data can be translated into measurable economic outcomes.

Through new analysis, industry examples and rigorous discussion, we will explore how factors such as water, climate resilience and resource security influence profitability, productivity, investment performance and growth. The objective is not simply to identify correlations, but to test where evidence increasingly points towards causation.

Together, we will test the data, challenge assumptions and explore where the strongest evidence for causation is beginning to emerge. From water pricing and supply chain resilience to capital allocation, insurance risk and corporate performance, the discussion will focus on how organisations can use environmental data to build stronger, more resilient and more profitable businesses.

Join us to help shape a new understanding of economic value creation – and to ensure the next generation of business growth is built on the foundations that make it possible.

Format

The session will take the form of a moderated expert panel discussion and interactive roundtable, featuring members of CDP's Earth-Positive Economics Advisory Board (EPEAB).

Audience participation is central. This convening is intended to draw on the experience of experts in the room who allocate capital, shape strategy, and operate at system scale.

The discussion will be led by members of the EPEAB with members introducing and framing the core economic propositions, drawing on CDP data to test where environmental performance demonstrably drives economic value.

Why your involvement matters

  • This work addresses a critical gap: translating sustainability insights into economic cause and effect that decision-makers can rely on.

  • The discussion will directly inform the focus areas, methodology and structure of CDP’s emerging Earth-Positive Economics Framework.

  • Insights from this convening will help shape CDP’s inaugural Earth-Positive Economics report, due in early 2027. Participants will have the opportunity to influence, and potentially feature in, that work.

Agenda

A formal, timed, agenda will be released shortly. This event will primarily be a discussion-focused session, with brief introductions from the Board members and post-discussion networking.
