Cellnex, Europe’s largest telecommunications towers and infrastructures operator, has a target to reduce its scope 3 emissions by 21% by 2025.

To achieve this, the company has directly engaged its suppliers through a range of initiatives. **Each year, Cellnex invites a significant number of its suppliers to respond to the CDP questionnaire**. In 2024, this represented 79% of the company’s purchases. Last year, the **supplier response rate was 80%**, leading to** a marked increase in awareness and action on greenhouse gas emissions**.

Cellnex has also created a condition in its tender process whereby **suppliers must report their carbon footprint to CDP** and submit a plan to reduce their emissions for the duration of the contracts awarded.

In a separate innovation as part of Cellnex's supply chain finance program, the company partners with Santander to offer discounted rates to suppliers reporting to CDP. **Suppliers that obtain the best CDP score are rewarded with a bonus from the bank**.
