Project Manager Question To Score

Job purpose and background

CDP is looking for an experienced project manager who is passionate about setting up and leading complex projects in an NGO environment.

As part of its strategic ambitions CDP has defined a set of transformation and project initiatives to realize its strategic goals of higher impact, improved stakeholder experience and disclosure information.

Successful execution of this portfolio of projects over the coming years is a priority of the Executive Leadership Team of CDP. To this end, we are strengthening our transformation and project delivery capability by setting up a new Transformation & Project Management Office to help initiate, monitor and accelerate projects, act as a sparring partner to project owners and support CDPs Executive Leadership Team in respect of screening, selecting and prioritizing projects to define a project portfolio aligned with CDPs overarching strategy.

The project manager will set up and lead our Question to Score program and reports to Global Director, Transformation & Projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensures that project requirements such as scope, deliverables, project milestones, benefits, risks, resources and budget are identified in consultation with project owner and relevant stakeholders
  • Accepts the project and manages the total project
  • Prepares the overall project approach (incl. governance, structure, phase and control) and confirms this with all stakeholder in an agreed PID (project initiation document)
  • Appoints and directs the project participants in consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • Realizes the project results within the established norms (time, budget and quality)
  • Realizes the decision documents and amendments
  • Manages and facilitates the decisions processes and informing the project participants about the decisions of the steering committee
  • Prepares progress reports of the project (incl. identifying bottlenecks and providing solutions)
  • Manages risks and issues
  • Chairs project meetings
  • Reports to steering committee for progress and issues

Required skills and experience:

  • Adept with project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE II)
  • 5-10 years of relevant working experience in project management
  • Strong (people) management skills and experienced in working with a team of (senior) professionals and able to delegate responsibilities to build a high performing team
  • Assertive and persuasive advisor, comfortable in interacting with senior and executive management in complex global matrix organisations
  • Ability to manage, connect and bring together diverse stakeholder interests
  • A capable builder of relationships, able to leverage personal networks to gain buy in
  • Committed, result driven and self-reflective team player
  • Specific experience in reporting related projects (sustainability reporting is a plus)
  • Affinity with NGO and related processes is an advantage
  • Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills in English

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract role to October 1, 2021, reporting to the Global Director, Transformation & Projects.

Salary and benefits: Level 4 role, Competitive NGO salary and benefits, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, annual discretionary bonus (depending on company performance), Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and others.
