Business Analyst

Job purpose and background

CDP is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced business analyst who is passionate to drive cross-functional impact analysis to assess the feasibility of business ideas and initiatives.

As part of its strategic ambitions CDP has defined a set of transformation and project initiatives to realize its strategic goals of higher impact, improved stakeholder experience and disclosure information. Successful execution of this portfolio of projects over the coming years is a priority of the Executive Leadership Team of CDP. To this end, we are strengthening our transformation and project delivery capability by setting up a new Project Management Office (PMO) function to help initiate, monitor and accelerate projects, act as a sparring partner to project owners and support CDPs Executive Leadership Team in respect of screening, selecting and prioritizing projects to define a project portfolio that is aligned with CDPs overarching strategy.

This role will be part of the Project Management Office team consisting of a number of business analysts and the PMO manager. The team is part of the Department of Innovation & Change. You will be reporting into the Lead Business Analyst.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drives cross-functional (impact) analysis to assess the feasibility of business ideas and initiatives
  • Determine business objectives of projects by gathering and analysing business information, evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Define project requirements by identifying scope, deliverables, project milestones, benefits, risks, resources and budget
  • Gather and formulate the functional and non-functional requirements of business solutions and know how to communicate those to different stakeholders.
  • Validate resource requirements and develop budget estimates
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
  • Build, update and monitor complex budgets

Required skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years working experience as a business analyst
  • Good knowledge of business analysis methodologies and best practices
  • Ability to understand core requirements and interpret them into the right context within the total solution
  • Ability to effectively deal with changing expectations or challenges
  • Experience with delivering business cases, budgets and feasibility studies
  • Experience financial reporting, budget and financial forecasts preparation
  • Great communication skills and sense of responsibility
  • You are a team player as well as dedicated, committed and bring a high level of self-motivation
  • Knowledge of formal project management methodologies is a plus
  • Experience in working on IT projects is a plus
  • Affinity with NGO and related processes is an advantage
  • Experience in environmental related industries is an advantage

This is a full-time, fixed-term role until 7th January 2022, based in London with some flexibility to work remotely from the UK, reporting to a senior member of the team.

Salary and benefits: Level 5 role, Competitive NGO salary and benefits, 30 days’ holiday p.a. plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and others.
