A quarter of a century ago, environmental disclosure was in its infancy. Today, it’s embedded in decision‑making worldwide. CDP ignited the transformation, and business leaders, investors and governments alike soon recognized the benefits of disclosure, turning a niche practice into a global norm.

To mark our 25th anniversary, **CDP is hosting a series of ceremonies recognizing global leaders in environmental transparency.** This milestone is both a moment for reflection and a call to action as we work together to build a future we know is vital and within our reach.

**Note, this is an invite-only event with limited capacity.**

In addition to this event in New York, we will also be hosting celebrations in China (including Shanghai and Taipei), Japan, Korea, Europe, and Brazil, to gather our community and chart the future for disclosure worldwide.

**   **

**What to expect:**

- High-profile keynote speakers on the way to drive Earth-positive economics;
- An inspiring program highlighting the history of CDP’s initiatives and the legacy they have left;
- Executive insights on the next 25 years of environmental transparency and action;

## 25 years of impact and partnership

### Building the frameworks for environmental transparency and action

Since 2000, CDP has been at the forefront of environmental transparency, developing the frameworks used to disclose impact, and mobilizing organizations to act.

Growing from 235 submissions at our questionnaire launch in 2002, the 22,100 disclosing entities to CDP now represent companies from over 130 countries and over one half of global market capitalization, alongside over 1,000 cities, states and regions representing over one billion people. From an initial focus solely on carbon, CDP now drives disclosure and transparency across water, biodiversity, plastic and deforestation impact, with the quality and depth of our data increasing each year.

Since its inception in 2008, our Supply Chain program has enabled requesters to identify supply chain carbon emissions, enabling US$54.4 billion in savings from identified and reduced emissions. Our disclosers have also been at the forefront of adopting and implementing environmental impact reduction plans, with disclosers reducing their carbon emissions by 7-10% on average.

The data we publish through the disclosure process has enabled major scientific research, provided the basis for innovative public policy, and supported thousands of companies and investors in making informed business decisions.

As we move forward into our next quarter century, CDP continues to expand the possibilities of environmental disclosure, forging new partnerships and coalitions to build an Earth-positive economy.
