Senior Program Officer, Capital Markets

Job purpose and background

CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual with proven self-starter skills to join the CDP’s India office Capital Markets team. The successful candidate will join a growing team of committed professionals working to embed ESG (Climate Change) integration into mainstream financial analysis and investment processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Capital Markets team to build strong relationships with key investors, banks, asset managers and other capital markets participants and recruit them as signatories and members.
• Engaging with investors, banks, and asset managers to build awareness of environmental reporting, use of CDP data and research and assisting them to use it in their investment process where possible.
• Building strong knowledge of latest investment trends in ESG, feeding information back to CDP management and the wider capital markets team and utilizing knowledge and understanding of sustainable finance to further engage the broader capital markets.
• Helping convene and organize investor roundtables, roadshows, and other informational events; liaising with other teams internally to align communications and outreach.
• Extracting data from the internal data warehouse and organising for external consumption, as well as presenting CDP data and analytics to various stakeholders in the investment community.

Required skills and experience

• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in India in financial markets preferably in a sales or marketing role and with a strong record of accomplishment of achievement.
• Have a strong networks in the banking and institutional investor community that can be leveraged to promote CDP’s Capital Markets objectives in India.
• Experience in liaising with contacts in senior positions at banks, pension funds, insurance companies and investment managers, and other financial market participants.
• Ability to take ownership and responsibility and work independently and remotely out of Mumbai.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills and a desire to seek out networking opportunities.
• Strong computer software skills, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM and analytical skills.

Desired skills and experience

• Knowledge of climate change mitigation and adaptation issues
• Exposure to ratings methodologies in the financial services industries
• Experience in Environmental related industries i.e. Water, Energy, Forestry related
• Expertise in data visualization tools

Salary and benefits: INR-800,000- INR-10,00,000 exclusive of annual discretionary bonus (depending on company performance), 22 holidays (annually) plus bank holidays
