CDP has the most comprehensive collection of self-reported environmental data in the world, with nearly 20,000 entities disclosing through CDP in 2022.
CDP’s data and insights are a unique source of information that can inform the design and evaluation of evidence-based policies for corporate, capital market and subnational action on climate change, deforestation and water security.
Through the CDP government dashboard, you can access:
CDP engages and collaborates with policymakers, helping governments and public institutions to analyze the impact of non-state climate and environmental action on the achievement of international and national goals, offering organization-specific, comparable data that can be easily accessed, tracked and monitored over time.
For example, CDP works with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) in Brazil by providing data reported through CDP disclosures system from mandated companies under the GHG emission inventory. The collaboration enables the alignment of requirements and provided historic data from CDP for over 600 companies to be considered in policy formulation.
In the SDG 6 Synthesis Report on Water and Sanitation (2018), UN-Water used CDP’s data to examine five aspects related to the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
Powered by CDP data, the Global Climate Action Portal (GCAP) is an online portal hosted by the UNFCCC and used by policymakers. It captures and tracks the progress of non-state actor commitments to climate action.
