Senior Manager, Renewable Energy - Paternity Cover
Are you passionate about the environment and tackling climate change? We are looking for a Senior Manager for Renewable Energy with excellent understanding of power and energy markets, and good knowledge of corporate sourcing of renewable electricity. You will work with CDP’s global climate team to deliver a program of activities which largely include working for RE100 initiative. The position will be an interface with RE100 Technical Advisory Group (TAG) which CDP manages as a part of the RE100 initiative. You will take over as project manager and will lead a renewable energy work focusing on RE100. Reporting to the Director, Climate Change, you will be a strong self-starter with data presentations skills and the ability to communicate across a range of levels.

Key responsibilities include:
- Overall project management for all the technical work of RE100 initiative;
- Support knowledge creation and management for RE100 initiative;
- Coordinate Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meetings, drive discussions
and seek productive outputs.
- Work with project partner i.e. The Climate Group and keep the track of
project deliverables and associated communications;
- Work towards expansion of CDP’s work on Renewable Energy using the CDP
disclosure process, working with partners such as IRENA to work on analysis and
reporting and driving up corporate and city, states and regions procurement of
renewables;
- Keep track
of finances and review all budgetary requirements which also include preparation of funding proposals and progress reports for the funders;
- Write
technical guidance documents and reports;
- Corporate
energy data analysis via using excel/other software; and
- Develop a network of contacts in the energy industry and promote CDP’s
work across a wide variety of stakeholders.
Essential skills and experience:
- Previous
working experience (minimum of six years), specifically in energy markets and
corporate sourcing of renewable electricity (ideally three to five years);
- Excellent
interpersonal and organizational skills that promote cohesion and teamwork;
timeliness and efficiency;
- Consensus-building
and writing action-oriented briefings for senior decision makers;
- Familiarity
with Scope 2 GHG Accounting;
- Excellent
oral and written English skills.
Desired skills and experience:
- Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of how to manipulate data in common tools;
- Familiarity with CDP’s Environmental disclosure programs;
- PG degree in Energy Studies/ Sustainability focusing on renewable energy;
- Demonstrable skills and experience in fundraising, project proposal preparation and monitoring.

This role can be done from either London or Berlin but would be currently working from home. It is a 6-month fixed term contract. The ideal starting date would be 15 March 2021. The interviews will take place w/c 1 March 2021.
