Senior Account Manager, Reporter Services, CSC UK & WW

Job purpose and background

CDP, one of the world’s leading climate change charities, is seeking a highly motivated individual to support CDP’s corporate engagement work, specifically joining the CSC UK and Worldwide leadership team. In your role as Senior Account Manager Reporter Services, you will accelerate our mission and motivate global multinationals with expertise, enthusiasm and endurance on the strategic journey to limiting climate change, improving water stewardship and banning deforestation from direct corporate business practices. The role covers UK and Worldwide (WW) companies. WW is defined as companies from regions not covered by other CDP offices (e.g. Russia, Middle East)

Key responsibilities include:

The Senior Account Manager, Reporter Services, CSC UK & WW will work to successfully deliver the following outputs:

Management

• Line managing direct reports and overall resource planning for the Reporter Services team in UK & WW
• Responsible for achieving annual RS revenue target and related KPIs – as well as collective responsibility for meeting all the UK CSC financial targets.
• Serving as a point of escalation for high priority companies or sensitive account management circumstances that arise for RS account managers
• Building relationships with key companies, partners and investors through public speaking and event attendance
• Preparing and delivering presentations to external audiences on the value of CDP
• Co-designing strategy for UK & WW corporate engagement campaigns including disclosure, commit to action and CSC business development for memberships (such as reporter services and supply chain), products and services; closely tied to the development of the company journey framework
• Work with Global Head of Value Chains and regional director corporations to develop annual operational plan and budget for the RS team
• Serve as a senior member of the Global Reporter Services team, working with global counterparts explore synergies and coordinate on relevant decision making, coordination of input and application of central systems, processes and communications.
• Co-designing a comms and event plan for UK & WW CSC with the UK & World Wide CSC Management team. This plan will include events such as spring workshops, end of year score events and other opportunities we want to pursue. Taking the event director role for delivering one of these events.

The precise description and nature of the role may be varied from time and other duties as necessary may be required to be carried out

The successful candidate will have:

• Minimum BA/BSc degree;
• 3 years proven experience in account management, sales or business development
• Strong organisational and planning skills – both at strategic and operational levels;
• Proven team-building and inter-personal relationship skills
• Advanced analytical and technical skills, a liking for data analysis, data mining, benchmarking and process optimization;
• Experience in working on climate change and sustainability topics, with a special focus on GHG emissions and /or water / forest and within a corporate environment a plus;
• Knowledge of client relationship management system and data analysis programs desirable, or ability to learn quickly;
• Good communication skills, ability to interact convincingly with people at different levels of seniority and different cultural backgrounds;
• Very good Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel, ideally including macro programming or interest to master such skills;
• Ability to work within an annual process with shifting priorities;
• Flexibility and creative problem-solving;
• Willingness to travel if required;
• Fluent in spoken and written English; additional languages eg Russian as advantage

This is a fixed term role for one year based at CDP’s Central London office reporting to the Global Head of Value Chains.

Salary and benefits: £35,364 - £39,000 per annum, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, annual discretionary bonus (depending on company performance), Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits.
