Marketing Manager - Supply Chain

Job purpose and summary

Are you an experienced B2B marketing professional looking for an exciting project that utilises your skills in strategic marketing and campaign delivery? Are you passionate about marketing and building a sustainable economy that works for people and planet?

CDP is looking for a skilled and dynamic marketing expert to join the global communications & marketing team. You will bring strong strategic marketing skills and have demonstrable evidence of delivering successful B2B campaigns and driving lead generation. Strong collaboration skills are vital to this role, which will see you working closely with the global communications & marketing and supply chain teams to drive, implement, track and deliver against our proposed seven-month marketing plan and provide expert recommendations.

You will report to the Senior digital manager and work closely with the communications manager for corporates & supply chain (CSC).

This role sits within the global communications & marketing team, a dynamic group of energetic and committed communications professionals that engage with four key stakeholder audiences (cities, states and regions; corporates and supply chain; policymakers and capital markets) at regional, national and global level. This role will be focused on our corporates and supply chain (CSC) workstream and concentrated on driving lead generation and promoting the value of our supply chain membership program externally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Complete audience segmentation and map out the full user journey for supply chain members and flesh out our buyer personas with more detail
  • Provide recommendations for optimization of digital channels to facilitate quality lead generation
  • Delivery of the multi-channel marketing plan: writing content, setting up ads, writing and sending marketing emails, etc
  • Develop and evolve content and tactics tailored to key needs, motivations and barriers of the target audience
  • Baseline and learn so we can iterate and improve (some improvements will be implemented in-campaign, others will be for future campaigns)
  • Regular in-campaign reporting and in-depth monitoring and evaluation both throughout the project and at the end to evaluate and present our results.
  • Track, test and monitor tactics and channel performance, behavioural metrics and return on marketing spend (eg. CPL, CPA, CPC) to identify most effective marketing channels and tactics, incorporate insights and lessons learned into the project and make recommendations to drive continuous improvement, achieve lead generation targets and optimize budget spend
  • Coordination with external suppliers, agencies and freelancers
  • Ensure the development of metrics and KPIs to support our primary marketing objective and deliver the project in a timely manner
  • Experience with digital marketing tactics, tools and software such as optimization of digital channels for lead generation, email marketing, LinkedIn ads and analytics, Hotjar, Google Analytics and Campaign Monitor / other email software.

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5-years' work experience in B2B marketing, strategic marketing and marketing campaign management
  • An educational background relevant to the role – ideally a professional qualification in marketing
  • An analytical and strategic mind capable of seeing the big picture and implementing and optimizing effective marketing strategy with built-in in-campaign monitoring, effective tactics and audience segmentation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practice in digital marketing
  • Demonstrable experience of successful marketing campaigns which have delivered against the main objectives of your plan
  • Strong project management skills, with proven track record of effectively leading workstreams
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt quickly to change, whilst ensuring attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • Experience working with global organizations, incl. international and regional offices

Desired skills and experience:

  • Experience working for not-for-profit organizations
  • Familiarity with working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Interest in environmental issues, climate change and corporate sustainability
  • Graphics creation and typesetting experience

This is a temporary contractor role and you will be working remotely, reporting to the Senior Digital Manager. The role will support the project throughout its duration, September 2020 - March 2021. Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK.
