Data Sales Manager Europe

Do you care about environmental issues? Would you like to be at the intersection of finance and the NGO world? This is an exciting opportunity in the CDP Europe’s Capital Markets team. You will work together with the Capital Markets team in Europe and globally and gain exposure to the ESG community while supporting the financial sector with the transition to a carbon-neutral, water secure and deforestation free world.

About CDP’s Capital Markets Program: CDP works with institutional investors and other capital markets participants to put vital environmental data at the centre of decision making. The information is used to inform investing and lending decisions and for corporate engagement.

The role includes:

  • Collaborate to spread the CDP environmental data in the European ESG ecosystem to maximize impact;
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and build new relationships and commercial opportunities within the investment and financial services sphere;
  • Generate leads, initiate contacts, and sell to data providers, including negotiating contracts to raise funds for the NGO;
  • Maintain and expand existing relationships, including account management and upselling;
  • Develop and maintain guidance and marketing material, such as brochures and PowerPoint decks;
  • Answer incoming inquiries and keep the pipeline of opportunities up to date;
  • Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum BA/BSc degree;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the financial sector and the ESG space;
  • Keen interest in sustainability themes and related policy developments;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the investing and financial services world;
  • A proven record of sales and account management, marketing experience is a plus.
  • A desire to seek out networking opportunities, including on social media;
  • A self-starter able to work independently as well as in collaboration with the team;
  • Good experience of Excel, PowerPoint and CRM skills as well as some knowledge of data management.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills in English; other European languages would be a plus.

The successful candidate will work five days per week and must be able to work legally in Germany. This full-time role is based at our office in Berlin, Germany, and will work closely with the Account Managers and report to the Senior Account Manager.
