Senior Data Analyst, Capital Markets

Job Purpose and Background

CDP’s Data Analytics Team are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Senior data analyst who is passionate to use data to drive companies, investors, and governments to build a thriving economy which works for people and planet.

The Data Analytics team works to deliver innovative analytical services and data products for Capital Markets clients. This helps investors make more sustainable investments within their portfolios. You will be the Senior Data Analyst for the Capital Markets team and support and manage the Capital Markets Data Analysts in the Data Analytics team. You will support the Capital Markets Team in client engagement and attend Investor client meetings.

You will support on delivering vital data products, such as the Full GHG emissions data set. Delivering exciting analytical projects, new data products, report creation and data visualization are key aspects of this role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering Analytics and Insight for Capital Markets Team.
• Line Management for two Data Analysts
• Delivering Data products for Capital Markets clients. E.g., modelled emission data products of 7K+ companies, Carbon metric datasets and other climate related data products.
• Engagement with Capital Markets colleagues and investors, in the use of our data, data products and make better decisions from them.
• Supporting on other data analytical services/product projects across CDP themes and stakeholders.

Required skills and experience:

• At least 4 years of data analysis experience using R/Python.
• Experience in a data sales role/client facing role
• Line management experience
• Good communication skills in English.
• Experience in data cleaning and statistical modelling.
• Excellent data visualization skills using Power BI or similar tools.
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex methodology and concepts to non-data experts.
• Experience of SQL (or T-SQL).
• Extraordinary data wrangling skills.
• Strong numeracy and good statistical skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• A team player with the ability to work under pressure.
• Great attention to detail and commitment to achieving high standards

Desired skills and experience:

• Familiarity with GitHub
• A good understanding of GHG accounting methods and sustainability data.
• An awareness of environmental issues, particularly as they relate to our core themes of Climate Change, Deforestation and Water Security.
• Knowledge of the financial system and capital markets.

This is a permanent, full time role based at CDP’s London office reporting to the Head of Data.

Salary and benefits: £39,000 - £42,000 per annum depending on experience, 30 days holiday excluding bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, annual discretionary bonus (depending on company performance), Employee Assistance Program, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities, and others.
