Reporting to one of the Stakeholder Communications Managers, the ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with some prior experience of working in communications, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and a keen interest in sustainability.

This is a unique opportunity for a bright and motivated individual who is seeking to grow their skills and experience across communications in a dynamic and fast-growing global non-profit working to drive environmental transparency and action. The successful candidate will play an integral role supporting our busy communications team across the breadth of its work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Communications Managers with deliverables for CDP campaigns, launches and announcements, as well as their day-to-day comms activities and some stakeholder management.
  • Support the media team to respond to incoming media requests and proactive media outreach.
  • Work with other members of the communications team when required, including content and digital.
  • Support the team on cross-campaign planning; and help to maintain central communications resources, including press lists and communications calendars.
  • Team-wide support including managing corporate subscriptions and coordinating daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports on communications activity, as well as some other administrative tasks when required.
  • The precise description and nature of your job may be varied from time to time, and you may be required to carry out other duties as necessary to meet organizational needs.

Required skills, qualities and experience:

  • 2+ years prior experience working in communications, ideally in sustainability or a corporate environment, with some experience of media relations desirable.
  • University degree – ideally in a relevant subject.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • The ability to draft compelling copy for social media, web, blogs, media and other formats.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Experience working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, who builds positive working relationships and is adaptable and collaborative in order to get a job done.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with ability to copy-edit, proof-read and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to process and summarize complex information.

This is a full-time fixed term role until end of March 2022, based at CDP’s London headquarters reporting to one of the Stakeholder Communications Managers. (Initially the whole team is working remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions).

Salary and benefits:

£26-29k per annum, annual discretionary bonus, 30 days’ holiday, generous non-contributory pension provision, life assurance and others.

Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the United Kingdom.
