Engaging your suppliers on your journey to a low-carbon future: how our accredited solutions providers can support

  • CDP Partnerships Team

December 01 2022

This month, we’ve seen COP27 take place in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. During these busy two weeks, CDP made several announcements including their decision to incorporate the International Sustainability Standard Board’s (ISSB) IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures Standard into its global environmental disclosure platform; a decision which will not only improve the consistency of climate-related information for investors but also reduce the disclosure burden on entities through an alignment of requirements. We’ve also seen the Biden Administration make CDP’s model the law, requiring that major federal suppliers disclose their environmental impacts through CDP and publicly disclose greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and climate-related financial risk, as well as setting science-based GHG reduction targets. These are big developments in environmental disclosure, with the latter emphasising the increasingly common pressure and need to engage your suppliers on your journey to a low-carbon future. Whether you’ve been disclosing through CDP for a number of years or are looking to get started in the near future, our accredited solutions providers (ASPs) offer a wide range of services and expertise to help you along the way; be it from creating a sustainability strategy, calculating and verifying your Scope 3 emissions to setting a science-based target.

This month, we are excited to announce that the following company has come on board as an accredited solutions provider and is available to support stakeholders with a variety of environmental issues:

CarbonChain, a silver software solutions provider in the UK, helps companies and financial institutions accurately calculate and report their supply chain and portfolio emissions. The carbon accounting software provides automated, asset-level emissions accounting for supply chains, providing insight into carbon-related risks and opportunities in near real-time. CarbonChain fills the Scope 3 data gap with an emissions database that covers the most carbon-intensive sectors (metals and mining, oil and gas, and agriculture), and a verified methodology aligned with the GHG Protocol.

We are also delighted to announce that the following accredited solutions providers have renewed their partnerships with CDP and will continue to support companies on their environmental journeys:

ACT Commodities, a global gold renewable energy solutions provider, helps organisations meet their climate action targets. ACT delivers tailor-made solutions across high-impact climate projects, renewable energy markets, energy efficiency, renewable fuels and carbon credits, enabling its partners to join the environmental revolution and pursue more sustainable futures.

ClimateView, a global gold cities consultancy solutions provider, provides ClimateOS, a collaborative decision-making software for local governments to plan, simulate and execute their climate transition. The platform helps cities reach their Paris Agreement targets and build their zero carbon economies, combining data and advanced modelling in a single platform, enabling improved verifiability of your Climate Action Plan.

UL 360, a global gold software solutions provider, works to help businesses measure, manage, report and act on key initiatives, such as science-based targets, achieving net zero and environmental impacts. Their solutions enable simplified carbon management and reporting, sustainability and ESG reporting, supply chain management, advisory services and GHG verification.

Energise, a women-owned silver climate change consultancy solutions provider in the UK, provides services to large organisations and SMEs to support them on their sustainability journey. The team delivers on many compliance requirements and disclosure schemes, including ESOS, SECR, TCFD, CDP, and GRI. They partner with customers at every step through rigorous data collection processes, setting science-based targets for Net Zero, highlighting solutions for resource efficiencies, carbon literacy and behaviour change interventions, and responsible offsetting.

LRQA, a silver verification solutions provider in the US, provides support with demonstrating compliance and accurately verifying emissions and sustainability data, helping to reduce the footprint of your organisation and its wider supply chain, delivering these services against leading standards and schemes.

Waterscan, a silver water consultancy solutions provider in the UK, provides comprehensive water disclosure services focussing on reducing cost and helping clients achieve sustainability goals simultaneously. They combine expertise in data management with intelligent water resilience assessment tools to identify water efficiency opportunities, develop comprehensive strategies to reduce consumption and impact, and to address water related risks.

CDP is committed to building a diverse accredited solutions provider network and we particularly encourage organisations that are women or minority-owned, like Energise, or those based in emerging economies, to get in touch.
