  • Conducting desk studies and working in collaboration with several teams to draft new sector-specific questions and reporting guidance for the financial services sector;
  • Analysing response data in Excel to inform the questionnaire revisions and new development;
  • Writing and proof-reading reporting guidance and other technical documents;
  • Supporting the Senior Technical Manager for Financial Services in running working groups and managing stakeholder relationships within the financial services sector.
  • Inputting questionnaires and guidance into CDP’s online systems and supporting IT testing if required;
  • Responding to internal technical queries on the climate change questionnaire and guidance;
  • Preparing presentations and presenting information to colleagues and companies.

Required skills and experience:

  • A relevant academic qualification in a financial discipline and/or 2 years+ professional experience in the financial services sector or related industry;

  • A good understanding of climate change, water and forests issues and their relevance to financial services businesses; Excellent qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis skills;
  • The ability to communicate complex information in a simple and concise way;
  • Strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills, with ability to work effectively under pressure, whilst still paying attention to detail and maintaining a strategic overview;
  • Technologically competent: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and an excellent standard of written English;
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, hard-working, personable and ability to work to deadlines.

Desirable skills (one or more of the following would be an advantage):

  • Experience in sustainable finance and/or environment, social and governance (ESG) risk management;
  • Awareness of the Task force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures and the Paris Agreement
  • Knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting standards;
  • Familiarity with the CDP climate change questionnaire;
  • Previous experience with environmental reporting frameworks applicable to the financial services sector;
  • Advanced level of Excel data analysis skills.

This is a full-time role based at CDP’s Central London office reporting to the Senior Technical Manager for Financial Services. The successful candidate will be provided with a contract for a fixed term of 10 months, with the potential to extend, subject to further funding.
