Development Manager, Trusts And Foundations

CDP’s Global Development Team is ambitious, dynamic and at the heart of everything CDP does. Half of CDP’s global income of £23 million is secured by our team and we have driven CDP to grow by 20% each year. There is significantly more potential – and we are expanding the team to reach even farther. As Development Manager, you will manage an ambitious and varied portfolio of current growing partnerships and promising prospects. You will drive forward fundraising with trusts and foundations, including corporate foundations – maximising opportunities and proactively seeking strategic partnerships.

This role is essential in our expanding team and organisation. You will develop ambitious, strategic and innovative funding partnerships with a focus on grants at the £500,000+ level. You’ll be the kind of person who searches for connections, chases opportunities, gets out from behind your desk to meet people, and influences internally and externally to achieve results. You will be driven, determined, tenacious and focused on solutions.

About CDP

Today, the world is at a critical tipping point. We urgently need a dramatic reallocation of financial capital and significant shifts in policy, strong leadership, innovation, and ongoing measurement, transparency and accountability to meet our climate goals. Business as usual is not an option.

CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) is an international environmental non-profit that drives companies and governments to increase transparency, accountability and action on climate change, water security and deforestation. CDP has driven unprecedented levels of environmental awareness and disclosure, developed award-winning insights that inform investment and policy decisions, and catalysed action from cities and companies to work to safeguard natural resources and reduce global emissions.

Whilst your friends may not have heard of us, CDP’s brand is globally recognised in board rooms of the world’s most influential financial institutions. We work with 650 institutional investors with assets of US$87 trillion, we leverage investor and buyer power to motivate companies to disclose and manage their environmental impacts. More than 8,000 companies representing 50% of global market capitalization disclosed environmental data through CDP in 2019. This transparency allows investors, corporations, cities, states and regions to learn from each other faster, benchmark performance against peers and develop transition plans for a low-carbon future.

CDP also leads numerous global projects and initiatives that drive dramatic shifts and address key challenges in building more sustainable economies and communities. For example, CDP engages with over 2,000 subnational governments and 800 cities, states and regions to manage their emissions, build resilience against climate impacts and find investment to create better and safer places for people to live and work.
