Manager – Scoring ACT project

Job Purpose and Background

CDP is offering an exciting opportunity for somebody with an interest in climate change and climate change data, policy and finance to support CDP’s technical work, with a particular focus on scoring activities.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, efficient and passionate and who takes pride in working to a high standard. The successful applicant will work as part of the Scoring team on the development and application of the Assessing low-Carbon Transition project (ACT). This project aims to measure a company’s contribution to a low-carbon economy, this evolution from CDP’s current scoring approach will require a candidate that is comfortable working in a creative manner but has strong analytical and process-defining skills. They will be part of the scoring team and will need to work in close relationship with the Forests, Water, Supply Chain and Climate Change programmes and the relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Project management and planning of team work, managing the day to day deliverables of the team of 4 against milestones including delivering the assessments of 30 companies against a transition to the low carbon economy.
  • Ensuring key deliverables for the project are met on time and to budget.
  • Ensuring reporting to funders and partners is achieved on time and to high quality.
  • Making sure key engagements with key partners and benchmarked companies are planned, created and delivered.
  • Conduct performance management and reviews for the team.
  • Co-ordination with other CDP teams such as communications, Technical, IT, and stakeholder engagements.

Required skills and experience:

  • Demonstratable experience in project management;
  • Very good attention to detail;
  • A self starter willing to take ownership and develop processes to improve the overall delivery of scoring;
  • Ability to deliver results to tight deadlines;
  • IT literate with excellent knowledge of Excel; database management knowledge would be an advantage;
  • Experience in working with Customer Relations Manager systems and the data from it;

Desired skills and experience:

  • Background knowledge in environment, GHG and/or financial accounting and current issues related with these disciplines, and the willingness to develop a high level of knowledge (Master’s preferred);
  • Knowledge of Auto manufacturer sector and/or Electric utilities and/or Oil and Gas sector, especially as it relates to environmental issues and emissions of these sectors.

This is a full time role on a one-year fixed term contract based at CDP’s London office reporting to the Associate Director, Scoring.

Salary and benefits: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, annual discretionary bonus, 24 days’ holiday (increasing to 30), generous non-contributory pension provision, life assurance and others.
