Towards High Quality Mandatory Environmental Disclosure Across the G20
In response to the rapidly evolving global policy landscape and increasing focus on nature-related disclosure, CDP presents 10 principles for high quality mandatory environmental disclosure. CDP’s HQMD Principles aim to guide policymakers – governments, financial services, capital market regulators, stock exchanges – in designing comprehensive, high-quality, and coherent mandatory environmental disclosure policies. Held in the days leading up to the G20 leaders' summit, this event will mark the formal launch of CDP's principles for HQMD. Policymakers and regulators from across the G20 will join to discuss the opportunities and challenges ahead in establishing a robust global environmental disclosure regime. CDP and the Future of Sustainable Data Alliance (FoSDA) co-hosted a roundtable event on “steering the role of ESG ratings and data products providers.” In this event we discussed current challenges, innovations, and regulatory developments of this fast-growing market, as well as reflect on the role of ESG data for public good. The event was exclusive to service providers, asset managers, and policymakers who are engaging or interested in this topic.

During COP15, CDP co-hosted and took part in a series of side events, outlining how the business and finance community are ready to implement an ambitious Target 15 successfully by demonstrating the current use of frameworks, tools, and metrics to assess and disclose impacts and dependencies on nature and what is needed from governments to scale up these practices.
