About We Mean Business
We Mean Business is a coalition of organizations working with thousands of the world’s most influential businesses and investors. These businesses recognize that the transition to a low carbon economy is the only way to secure sustainable economic growth and prosperity for all. To accelerate this transition, we have formed a common platform to amplify the business voice, catalyze bold climate action by all, and promote smart policy frameworks. The following partners represent WMB in India:
CDP India: CDP is the only global disclosure system for companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts and for investors or purchasers to access environmental information for use in financial decisions. We have built the most comprehensive collection of self-reported environmental data in the world. Our network of investors and purchasers, representing $87 trillion, along with policy makers around the globe, use our data and insights to make better-informed decisions. Through our offices and partners in 50 countries we have driven unprecedented levels of environmental disclosure.
The Climate Group (TCG India): The Climate Group is an award-winning, international non-profit. TCG specializes in bold, catalytic and high-impact climate and energy initiatives with the world’s leading businesses and state and regional governments. It aims to catalyze climate leadership in government and business to accelerate the shift to a prosperous and thriving ‘net-zero’ future for all. Founded in 2004, The Climate Group’s offices are located in Beijing, Hong Kong, New Delhi, New York and London.
World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD): WBCSD is a global, CEO-led organization of around 200 forward-thinking businesses working together to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world. WBCSD is a unique network where members co-create solutions, learn from other leading companies; interact with the strongest partners and gain access to a one-stop shop for tools and expertise to deliver positive impact for societies, shareholders and the environment. Together, we develop transformational business solutions to the most challenging issues, delivering results that no single company could achieve alone.
We are seeking support from an expert independent facilitator to map organizational strengths and assets of WMB partners in India and develop a cohesive strategic framework for collective action that is transformative and reflects WMB’s theory of change. The framework should aim to deliver business-led programmes that have significant in supporting India’s energy transition through one or more transformative actions.
The final deliverables have to be handed over to WMB partners by 30th May 2017.
