Are you passionate about the critical role of food, and the systems within which we produce and consume it? Are you also passionate about sustainable development and are knowledgeable on global food issues and the role of corporations and Capital Markets? If yes, and you want to have an impact on creating a more sustainable and resilient food system, than this is the perfect opportunity for you. You will drive significant research and analytical work to focus and integrate our efforts to define the climate, forest and water security-related interventions and best practices needed across key sectors making up the global agriculture and food value chain. You will support the production of cutting-edge research, advocacy, and innovation to provide decision-useful information to businesses, investors, cities, and governments that will mobilize the world’s largest coalition of non-state actors to tackle the global food and climate crisis. Ultimately, you will be working to put sustainable food systems at the heart of business, financial and policy decision-making.
About the Sustainable Food System initiative: Newly launched in 2019, the SFSI endeavours to take a systems approach to demonstrate the direct link and impact of our current food system on GHG emissions, water security and deforestation in order to drive momentum and shift business and procurement practices. The initiative is working to shine a light onto the key role of agriculture and food sectors and support our stakeholders by developing and disseminating a data-driven economic rationale for action aimed at private sector corporates, their capital market and supply chains that will enable the sustainable transition of the global food value chain to support a food system capable of surviving and thriving in a 1.5C world.
