Renewable Energy Analyst / Senior Analyst

Do you want to make a difference when it comes to tackling climate change? Do you have an interest in renewable energy and how companies source this? We are looking for somebody with a passion for corporate renewable energy sourcing and reporting. You will work with CDP’s global climate team to deliver a program of activities which largely include working for the RE100 initiative. Reporting to the Senior Manager (Renewable Energy), You will have excellent data presentations skills and the ability to communicate across a range of levels. As you will be working with companies on their electricity usage you will have knowledge of GHG protocol scope 2 reporting and guidance as well as a strong interest in the electric power industry.

About RE100 initiative:

Led by The Climate Group in partnership with CDP, RE100 is a collaborative, global initiative uniting more than 280 influential businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity, working to massively increase demand for - and delivery of - renewable energy. As the technical partner in the initiative, CDP manages technical criteria and reporting, among other things. Please visit www.there100.org to find out more.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Corporate energy data analysis via using Excel/other software
  • Assist companies on their queries on the compliance of RE100 technical criteria, record keeping and reporting back to the team on a regular basis;
  • Organize knowledge sharing webinars on the topics of corporate RE sourcing in various geographies and making credible RE uses claims;
  • Assist the team in smooth functioning of annual reporting exercise which includes providing disclosure support to member companies;
  • Write technical guidance documents and reports;
  • Help in any other technical tasks that might be necessary within various teams at CDP; and
  • Support the team with general admin.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience. Previous knowledge/experience of renewable energy markets and/or scope 2 GHG emission reporting is required;
  • Knowledge of GHG protocol scope 2 reporting guidance;
  • Highly organized, fast learner and strong attention to detail;
  • Strong interest in the areas of renewable energy markets;
  • IT literate with excellent knowledge of MS-Excel; experience in data analytics and management is required;
  • Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, energy studies, energy engineering or related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred; and
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

This role can be done from either London or Berlin but would be currently working from home. There is no provision for relocation and the candidate must be able to work in Berlin or London when the office re-opens. It is a 1-year fixed term contract. The ideal candidate would be able to start immediately. First round interview will take place as soon as possible.
