Product Specialist – Capital Markets

- Are you passionate about how finance can contribute to a climate resilient, environmentally sustainable future?

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to manage and develop CDP’s climate data solutions for global investors, and to engage with them on the integration of environmental data into mainstream investment decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact globally on how the financial ecosystem can respond to the key environmental challenges of climate change, deforestation, and water security. We are looking for a highly data-driven person with good communication skills to promote CDP’s data solutions to the global investor community for a stronger and faster alignment of the financial sector with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.

The role includes:

  • Managing and maintaining existing corporate climate datasets, including for Climetrics and CDP’s new temperature ratings;
  • Continuously improving overall data management and delivery processes;
  • Actively supporting CDP account managers globally in their efforts to increase awareness of CDP’s capital markets offering particularly CDP temperature ratings;
  • Working with CDP teams globally, including thematic and digital teams, on developing new scoring and assessment methodologies and turning them into actual data solutions for investors;
  • Providing general research support to the Head of Product Development and other internal stakeholders;
  • Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum Msc degree in a business, finance or environmental management related field;
  • Minimum 5 years working experience ideally in the ESG industry;
  • Strong data management and analytical skills, with high attention to detail;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and VBA/Macros;
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM systems, particularly MS Dynamics, is an advantage;
  • Excellent English skills (verbal and written), other European languages are an advantage (particularly French/German);
  • Good presentation skills and ability to draw key messages out of complex analysis;
  • A solution-driven and flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience in corporate sustainability at large, and climate change, water security, or deforestation in particular;
  • The drive to take responsibility and integrate successfully into a dynamic team;
  • A solid understanding of capital markets and the investment management industry with a passion for sustainable investment.

The successful candidate will work full-time (40 hours/week) and must be eligible to work legally in Germany. The role is located at our office in Berlin, Germany, and will report to the Head of Product Development, Capital Markets at CDP Europe.
