Days per week: We will be flexible in our approach and discuss your volunteering hours with you. We are looking for someone to be present at our London office for three days a week.
The internship programme:
To apply for the programme you must live in London or a reasonable commuting distance
from our London office, which is located centrally.
All our volunteer interns will be assigned to a volunteer intern supervisor and will receive an induction, on-the-job training, coaching and one-to-one support. On successful completion of their placement, volunteer interns can request a reference.
Interns will get an insight into how an international environmental NGO operates with the opportunity to attend meetings and ask questions.
Role purpose and background:
The internship will be at CDP's London office and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in a range of the program’s activities. It will be a valuable experience for anyone seeking a career in the area of climate change and sustainability with an interest in government engagement, policy and data transparency. The internship will run across a key annual section of the program, which includes defining the scope and structure of sub-national government outreach, communications planning, engagement delivery and technical support. The intern will assist with tasks as guided by the Cities Manager, and will also assist with other program tasks.
You will be given full support in developing the skills needed to thrive in a professional environment and have the opportunity to hone your skills across a number of areas, receiving constructive feedback on your work from experienced staff. Enthusiasm, self-motivation and the ability to hit the ground running will be key to your success.

This is not a salaried position. We will cover your day-to-day travel and lunch expenses in line with our expenses policy. Lunch expenses will only be provided on days where over 3.5 hours volunteering have been completed.
