Accounts Receivable Accountant

Location: Berlin, Germany

Due to the continuous, strong growth of our organisation we are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join CDP Europe’s international Finance & Administration team.

About the role:You will be the point of contact for clients and Account Managers, efficiently managing the daily operations of CDP Europe’s Billing and Accounts Receivable in an accurate and timely manner, reporting to the Team Lead Accounting.

The role includes:

  • Maintain Accounts Receivable activities, monitor accounts and incoming payments;
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients, upload invoices to their electronic platforms, reconcile and implement adjustments of invoices if applicable;
  • Ensure a smooth and efficient communication with clients and Account Managers, provide with support and any documentation as requested;
  • Keep track of payment schedules and communicate with clients to secure payments (dunning process);
  • Record AR transactions in CDP’s accounting system (DATEV);
  • Preparation and transmitting of EC intra community sales lists to authorities (zusammenfassende Meldung);
  • Support the Finance Team on further administrative-accounting activities (timesheets, travel claims, credit card statements and expenses forms);
  • Support Team Lead Accounting with reporting and other corporate finance related tasks;
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Successfully completed a commercial education or business studies with a focus on accounting, finance, business administration or related field;
  • 2+ year of prior experience in financial accounting with B2B clients;
  • Familiarity with standard accounting system (preferably DATEV);
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel;
  • Very good command of spoken and written English and good command of German;
  • Detail-oriented attitude, combined with a well-structured and analytical working style;
  • Hands-on and proactive attitude, ability to work independently as well as to be a team member;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to handle interaction with clients in a professional and friendly manner;
  • Strong mathematical and creative problem-solving skills preferred;
  • Prior experience in using CRM tools is a plus.

The successful candidate will work five days per week and must be able to work legally in Germany. This full-time role is based at our office in Berlin, Germany, and will work closely with and report to the Team Lead Accounting, Europe.
