Feeding 10 Billion: Is the Corporate Food Value Chain Rising to the Challenge of a Sustainable Food Future?
While the food and agriculture system alone contributes approximately 1/4 of all global GHG emissions and continues to drive serious environmental degradation, our food system also offers promising solutions to reduce water stress and pollution, halt deforestation, restore lands and protect the world’s biodiversity. In this panel, CDP will share new research on the current ‘state of play’ within the complex global corporate food value chain. We will investigate what environmental risks and opportunities are being seen by companies in the food value chain, the initiatives and best practices they are implementing within their own operations and in their supply chains to drive sustainability and resiliency, and why engagement across the many levels of the value chain is critical to success.

Municipal Bonds & the Value of CDP Disclosure: Issuer Roundtable
Bonds are a crucial financing mechanism for sustainability projects. As the urgency of addressing climate change grows municipal issuers are using a variety of bond finance tools to support their sustainability efforts while aiding economic recovery. The sustainability bond market alone is expected to surpass US$500 billion in value by the end of 2020. Join this panel discussion to hear cities and public agencies explain how fixed income financing facilitates robust sustainability work, the importance of disclosure and transparency around the use of proceeds raised through bond finance and the role that CDP disclosure plays for these issuers in facilitating both their continuing disclosure and their sustainability work more broadly.

Transitioning Out of Oil & Gas: Can Companies and Governments Really Do It?
At the heart of the zero-carbon transition is the need to build an economy which is no longer reliant on fossil fuels to power its growth – but how will oil & gas companies navigate significant transition risks? This event brings together major oil & gas companies who are positioning themselves as leaders on the net-zero journey, alongside governments, investors and thought leaders to explore what tangible action really looks like for this sector and how stakeholders will know whether to applaud or view with skepticism. It will build on work that CDP has been leading with partners in the creation of a science-based targets methodology for this sector, as well as an assessment framework (ACT) which would allow stakeholders to assess the credibility of a company’s action.

Scope 3 Targets: Moving From Ambition to Action
With 950+ companies around the world committed to setting science-based targets, it’s clear that the bar on climate action has been raised. However, companies face many challenges when setting and working to achieve their targets – particularly when it comes to managing supply chain emissions. Join CDP to learn how companies are tackling these challenges as they set and work to achieve ambitious supply chain emissions reductions targets.
