Just last week, CDP launched a report on the results of its 2021 Non-Disclosure Campaign, an annual campaign which offers investors the opportunity to actively engage companies that have received the CDP disclosure request on behalf of investors but have not provided a response. Contributing to CDP’s mission to drive further corporate transparency around climate change, deforestation and water security, the report showcases the far-reaching impact of financial institutions in encouraging environmental disclosure. Findings show that across all three CDP themes, companies requested by financial institutions were 2.3 times more likely to disclose than those who were not targeted, a figure which further increased to 3.1 times when looking at the web and marketing sectors, more specifically. That said, despite the continuing process of the Non-Disclosure Campaign, its reach in sectors such as hospitality, transport and biotechnology was more limited, as was its impact in Japan, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia. In order to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy, businesses must show their investors that they are committed to minimising their impact on the environment. Disclosing to CDP is a crucial step in this process, and our accredited solutions providers offer a wide range of services and sector expertise to support you along the way.
